Welcome

Welcome to my personal business website, I’m Alejandro Noguez, a Data Scientist and MSc. in Economics (UNAM, University of Birmingham UK), with over 13 years of experience in Data Analysis in the Economics and other industries. I started my career when I was at my Bachelor’s where I supported projects with a Faculty Researcher, since then my passion for combining programming and obtaining valuable analysis and insights has been growing steadily over the years. My passion for programming and data has always existed in my life.

I’ve been working remotely for the 6 last years, and enjoyed the experience of being able to work with international teams in Data Science related work for business, as related to my last job experience at Endeavor Global. My core areas of expertise are Data Analysis, Machine Learning, Python Programming, Process Automation, Webscrapping, Econometrics Analysis. Learning AWS technologies can be complicated, so I also decided to get certified in AWS technologies as it provides all the needed cloud infrastructure that Data Analytics needs, currently holding the Certifications of Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect Associate, Data Engineer Associate and Machine Learning Specialist.

Professional Journey

I started my career at my Bachelor’s at UNAM as research assistant where I learned about the importance of programming, database manipulation, statistics, modeling that combined together translates into data analysis for an industry, Economics in this case, through Economic Consultancies I collaborated in several projects as research assistant. Later on I entered other public goverment institutions as INAI where I participated in the development of a nation wide survey in collaboration with the INEGI to understand how the population exercised their right to access public information (ENAID 2016), and another institution as the INECC where I applied my knowledge to Environmental Data Analysis. Afterwards my collaboration transitioned to the private sector entering the Anahuac University where I continued my career supporting research from the Data Science perpective for the Academy in several topics as Economics, Finance, Politics, Social Programs, Transportation, Education and Health. 

Finally I entered Nielsen where I participated in the design and analysis of a nation wiede TV Audience Survey of a value of a million of USD, in this experience my passion for programming exploded, as the first python programmer of the audience data analysis team I deepen my passion for programming and expanded my range of application not just from the Economics point of view, since then I have taken as many courses as possible investing all of my time on it. Endeavor has been like a home for me as I widened my professional vision in understanding that there are multiple business ecosystems in the world, with differences in development and specialities and being part of those projects really make me grow in many professional aspects as multicultural collaboration, responsability, proactivity and data analysis knowledge. Working on my spare time since my Bachelor’s as independent data analysis consultant, currently collaborating with the Anahuac University and projects from other companies when possible. With over 13 years of experience in data analysis in the public, private, education, consultancy sectors I’m always eager to apply my knowledge on new topics and face new challenges.

Expertise

Using analytical tools as Python, R, SQL, STATA and SAS I develop solutions in Jupyter Notebooks, scripts and code snippets; in companion with other data visualization tools as Tableau, Flourish, MatplotLib, ArcGis; web development and design tools as languages as HTML, CSS, Javascript, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Indesign and Adobe Premiere; and communication and planning tools as GitHub, Google, Notion, Zoom, Teams, Slack. All of these tools and experience combined with Artificial Intelligence Models allow me to provide high quality data solutions in timely manner, while maintaining a healthy communication and planning with my clients.

Ethics

I’m commited to work with responsability, respect, understanding, quality, innovation and collaboration. As Data Scientist and Economist I know the importance of developing data solutions with responsability on each step of the process, where methodologies should be followed rigorously to produce standardized and valuable insights. I believe that work should be done to satisfy the client’s need in timely manner, understanding the client’s needs is paramount, setting common timelines and continous communication to execute processes and weighting different approaches to define a useful solution.

In an enabling industry as Data Science, Machine Learning and AI where data should be handled efficiently but also with security, my work ethic is built with integrity and excellence where the security of sensitive data is of most importance including all of its stages as collection, transportation, storage, manipulation and deletion. All data is handled by myself only for the purpose of the objectives of the projects, not shared with anyone else and then destroyed or archived as described on my Privacy Policy

Personal Interests

Outside work I’m passionate about music, videogames, long walks with my dog and discovering new technologies or python libraries. These activities fuel my creativity and keep me motivated.
